Last week, Hurricane Harvey hit Texas as a category 4 hurricane – the strongest storm to hit the U.S. in more than a decade. Parts of Houston are flooded, rescue crews continue to help thousands of people who’ve been displaced – many of whom are our employees and families.
We know our employees are concerned about our colleagues and families in areas affected by the hurricane. All of our centers and sites in Houston are closed as a result of the hurricane, and though all of our employees are safe and accounted for, many are displaced from their homes. We’ve closed our centers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as the storm spreads.
In times like this, we know that the rest of our KCE family is eager to help. Here’s a few things you can do:
- Send messages, questions, and updates for the Texas team to Center Operations with “Hurricane Relief” in the subject line. A special team will consolidate your messages to help make sure the Texas/Louisiana teams get what they need and feel your support without being overwhelmed with calls and emails (as well intended as they may be).
- Make a one-time donation to the ONE Fund. In this time of need, contributing an immediate donation to the ONE Fund can have a big impact. You can make a one-time donation by calling our Employee Support Center at 1-888-525-2472. If you have questions about the ONE Fund, email the ONE Fund team.
- Throughout the month of September, we’re encouraging employees to donate PTO to our colleagues in Texas. Employees can donate PTO into the One Fund by emailing benefits or calling 1-888-525-2472.
- To provide immediate support, consider donating to the Red Cross Fund for Hurricane Harvey.
